Summer Select Tryouts are Coming Soon! - Monday, January 09, 2012

Montclair United Soccer Club (MUSC) is excited to announce tryouts for the Summer Select Program based in Montclair.


What is Summer Select Soccer?


Each summer a number of Elite-level weekend tournaments are held in NY, NJ, PA and DE. Tournaments are typically Saturday and Sunday and sometimes require an overnight stay (tournaments typically run from mid-June through the end of July). Players invited to participate will be asked to commit to a certain number of (but not necessarily all) tournaments in order to reliably predict the roster for each weekend's tournament. The tournaments provide a competitive soccer environment within a fun weekend for the kids.

Tryouts will be held mid-February 2012

Dogs at Fields - Wednesday, April 14, 2010

ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, NO DOGS at any fields.  NONE!
If you are in the meadow at Brookdale Park, please stay 15 yards behind the spectators.
Please do not jeopardize our field permits by bringing dogs to the fields.  If we lose our permits, the kids can't play.

 
Lightning and Thunder Rule - Friday, April 15, 2011

Check here at the MUSC website or call (973) 783-MUSC for cancelations.  We often play in the rain.  Games/practices may be canceled due to a combination of factors, such as field conditions,intensity of rain, and wind.  However, we do NOT play if there is lightning or thunder. 

The "THUNDER or LIGHTNING RULE"  :  If you hear thunder or see lightning, all games/practices stop for 30 minutes after the last occurrence of thunder or lightning.   Play may resume if there is remaining time in the scheduled match/practice.  If the stoppage extends beyond the original scheduled end time for the game/practice, it will not be resumed.

Important Concussion Information for Players, Parents, Trainers & Coaches...

The State of New Jersey passed a law last year (A2743) concerning management of head injuries to student athletes. The Legislature and the State Board of Education developed a model policy which was then modified and adopted by all of the individual school districts in the State. Under the law school districts are immune from litigation of over head injuries that occur when a "youth sports organization" uses school fields if the organization certifies  to the Board of Education that they are in compliance with district guidelines.

Red Bulls Training Day for MUSC players at Montclair State University

The Cannon Ball Run is a great way to get your 5 & 6 year old players to engage in soccer - while having LOTS of FUN! 

(These MUSC players were at Montclair State University participating in Red Bulls Video Curriculum filming.)




Toy Story 3 is another fun soccer exercise to teach your Kinderkickers or Little Strikers while keeping them excited and engaged in soccer practice.

What a great day our little MUSCers had learning with the Red Bull Trainers!
